MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

The Christ Child Society is a voluntary organization of members dedicated to improving the lives of children in need. The work is accomplished in a variety of ways. Some members knit and crochet sweater sets and afghans for Layettes or make hats and scarves for the Coat program. Members serve on committees – doing necessary paper and computer work, planning and organizing events, others will arrange shopping trips and delivery of baby items, food, diapers and coats. Members will also serve as a liaison to one of the 27 organizations, agencies or schools that we help either on an “as needed basis” or on a continuing basis. The center of our service is always focused on our spiritual life and the love of the Christ Child. Our meetings and social events begin and end in prayer and a day of Recollection is held annually. Our inspiration and direction has been handed down from our foundress Mary Virginia Merrick. Mary believed: “The spirit of the Christ Child Society is one of personal love for the Christ Child expressing itself in the personal service for the least of “His little ones.” We are a Catholic based organization and we welcome anyone who is interested in serving God’s children in need.
